What is Supervision?
Supervision provides a space for learning, development and reflection. It is a process which supports professionals to ensure that they are working safely and ethically, develop knowledge skills and competence.

How will it benefit me?
Regular supervision will enable you to enhance the value of your work whilst supporting your own wellbeing. It has long been an established part of therapeutic work but is increasingly being used in other settings where there is direct work with people or teams.
Supervision gives you space to reflect and problem solve. A supervisor will not offer advice or tell you what to do but will work alongside you to develop your own insights and solutions.

What is a session like?
The work we do as professionals can be emotionally challenging, especially where there are difficult dynamics/relationships or if your role involves responsibility for the wellbeing of others.
I view supervision as another experienced professional providing a supportive perspective on your work but also on your wellbeing as a practitioner. I aim to provide a collaborative, restorative and consultative space, where you can openly discuss your work in a confidential space without fear of judgement. We will explore client welfare, ethical dilemmas and also your personal and professional development.
Our work will also be considered within an Anti-Oppressive framework. This means becoming more aware of our own bias so that we can adapt and attend to the impact of power and difference in the therapeutic relationship.
I will tailor supervision to meet your needs and consider the context/modality, level of training and ethical framework in which your work is delivered.

Why work with me?
I have been delivering supervision in various roles since 2008, across the public and private sector and have extensive experience of working in Children and Young people's services, so am sensitive to the complexities and challenges of working with safeguarding and risk.
I work with both student and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists with seven areas of focus that encompass the client, the therapist, the supervisor, the relationships between therapist, client and supervisor, and the wider system.
I also work with anyone working in a helping profession including educators, mental health practitioners and practitioners working in health and social care settings.
